I'd rather see it go to someone using it as intended and driven regularly rather than sitting around and driven once every month and driven like Grandma on her way to church shifting under 2000RPM.

So what if they get into it and give it a hard time every time they get behind the wheel, I'd be proud if I was one of the people who helped build and designed a car being used for its intended purpose.

Reminds me of a customer I came across when I was working at a Honda dealership and they had a Honda S2000 but drove it like a grandma, what a fucking waste of a perfectly engineered machine designed to be used between 6000-9000RPM constantly.

Sell it to the person who gives you the most money, once its no longer yours you've got no say how its treated.
There is a difference in spirited enthusiastic driving and just plain stupidity, which I have mentioned I would prefer not to sell to a person as such, or in other words a stupid fucking young dumb new Australian from the burbs that will stick sticker’s all over it and have a sub blasting as he enters his street every time to wake up the neighbours, and watch his chrome bling 22” inch rims from a far as his mates tell him how fully sick it is bro.....

It’s still only a Falcon with a 5 litre at the end of the day, it’s not like it’s some factory track prepared McLaren or something, so driven normally is just how I have driven it over the year’s.

But that's the point of the thread isnt it? Sometimes people DO want to give a car a good home, not just cash a cheque for it.
1997 EL GT #037 - Burgundy, Manual, Dusty.
2015 VW Amarok 4MOTION Manual, tuned, BFG's, Lift - the Urban Warrior
2017 VW Passat TSI R-Line Wagon - family hauler with the lot

You either do want to get rid of it or you don't, and once you do you have no say in what the new owner does with it, and thats the way it is.

So you sell it to the person who gives you the most money, what happens when it leaves your driveway is no longer your concern.

If you want to get rid of it, get rid of it, buy something else.

Right well if I ever sell my GT I WON'T sell it to you, because by the sounds of it you couldn't give a stuff about it and would tell me to f off if I asked how it was going.

All good, but lots of other car guys don't operate that way.

Personally I’d sell it to a person that is seeking such a vehicle and one that will treat it as if it were their pride and joy, for a lesser price then to a person that is only going to thrash it, I’m not struggling for a quid and I really don’t need to have to mention that but in this instance, money is not the concern.

Try and see this as a word of mouth sale, just imagine I had a genuine XYGTHO III that I was willing to part with but only to the right person that will not thrash it, and will not mod it to the ends of the earth... I am seeking a sale behind closed doors at this stage, I have not advertised in such but rather put the feelers out there to find the right person if they exists.

I'm a 'car enthusiast' which means I actually drive 3 of my 4 cars, I'm not someone who fusses over driving over dirt roads, worries about parking it in shopping centers, or worried about putting too many kilometers on the clock or has to wash it every weekend with some special cloths made out of unicorn fur because it has dust on it.

You’re also a person with no sentimental values as well by the sounds of it.

I’m happy that you see vehicles as a means of transport but don’t deny others or belittle them because they have a different approach to how they see their pride and joy.

I can understand not wanting to sell it to someone who's not going to treat it as you would. Sometimes it's hard to break that emotional tie.
As mentioned earlier, the price and condition will deter 95% of the unwanted type. Anyone willing to spend 10k on an au that's not a t series is already an enthusiast of the model.

I'd like a nice example myself, but at 10k or thereabouts it puts me out for the time being.

as for Damo's point, I can see where he's coming from. Personally I hate it when you see those posts on Facebook 'saw my old car today, doesn't look like it's been washed in at least four days, useless prick has ruined it'. But there's all types of enthusiast, that's what makes the car scene so diverse.

    Then keep it.

You're not going to find someone who wants to buy a 15 year old Falcon for $10K and is going to treat it like its some exotic car.

How do you know that there is not a person out there that is looking for a example that I have, there are car enthusiast around and there are Falcon enthusiast’s around and I hate to break it to you but there are even AU Falcon enthusiast’s around.

I am one of them and if I were looking for such a vehicle then I would love to have the chance to talk turkey with the owner.

Why would I not find a person that would buy a 15 year old Falcon XR8 for 10k, there are quite a few examples for sale and have been sold over the past few years for around that sum, it’s all relative to the condition and vehicle at hand, I am not after a quick sale here.

I bet you would not have thought that a 1998 Laser that I had for sale just recently would sell for 4k either but it did, people see things differently you know.
