Have you driven one yet? Go drive one, the tranquility inside and the shove in the seat you get from the TD for highway overtaking will delight, I promise :)

Yeah I had the chance to have a RWD Titanium for a weekend last yr, very nice vehicle, I have no qualm's in how good they are etc and I love everything about it, my main concern is should I follow my heart and buy one now or follow my head and buy the updated '14 model, as I am not a person that updates vehicles that often, I still have my '01 AU XR8 that I have had since new, only 62,000 klms, been the best vehicle I have ever owned.
So in saying that my head say's wait till the update as it's only a yr or so I thought, but I have been waiting for a Terri since they were released back in '11.
Money is not an issue either way, I just want to make the right decision for my family and our future.
All I see is tech upgrades for Terri. Doubt much will be changed. It will prob get drl's as that looks like its gonna be adr by then.Quote:

And hopefully a engine upgrade, (power wise) the rest of the stuff I could live with what we have now.
I guess what I am saying is if there was going to be some signifcant updates that suit me like what I have mentioned then I am willing to wait otherwise I would dearly love to do a deal on one tomorrow if I could.
What you are basically looking at doing is waiting till 2015. You would do that to see if there were deals on 2014 plates. That's just good buying sense.
If you are waiting till 2015 you may as well wait for the last model in 2016/17 because it will be the last of our cars either way.
The moral is that we can wait till the perfect car but it never comes along.
The key for me here is what deal you can make right now. Get the car now for the right price that limits the damage over two years and upgrade then. I see a long list of people waiting for the 2016 models myself included. I think i can make a deal now work and then again in 2016. That's my thinking.
The strength of any purchase is in the deal. See what you can do now, see how you feel about it with something concrete in front of you.
I'd be highly surprised if there are any mechanical changes for the Terri. Maybe a bit of cosmetic tweaking but I think in the main it will be features, particularly those the FU will get. I'd love to see it get proximity key and park assist.
I'm waiting for the Falcon purely because if it looks like arse, I will buy an FG. But if it looks shit hot like I suspect it will, I also want to have one of the last Australian made Falcons with a home grown turbo 6.
i guess the other way to look at things is, when the falcon is released, the VF commodore will already be a year old. the fact that holden have decided to stick with large headlights to me means it could date pretty quickly given the trend by many other brands. VF looks like a chrysler crossfire.
externally, i don't think Ford would be too worried. while we dwell on the fact that VF will be on sale a year earlier, the shoe will be on the other foot 12 months after that. its not really that long a wait in the big scheme of things.
It wasn't until VE2 that holden really caught up anyway. the BF2 performed very well in most areas against VE and the FG was a much better product than VE.
I think Ford will need to throw something more at the FG MK2 (feature wise, not mechanically), or discount the hell out of it to keep it in the game for another 9 to 12 months. April's sales numbers are a major concern and will fall further when VF arrives. For Falcon buyers however it will be a good time to buy a Mk2 FG over the next 12 months . Personally I think we will see something sooner than that i.e. Feb-March 2014. The new model is going to look great but hopefully they haven't left their run too late.
