I hope GTF made a lot of money for Ford Australia. I hope Sprint triples it. I hope someone can see that and start to ask questions. Those questions need to be is there a demand, will it be supported and can we make money from it.
The problem here with this is that the "last of the Mohicans" nature of these cars will have distorted the metrics in terms of demand and profit. By virtue of that I don't think the decision makers will be second guessing themselves.

    Completely agree.

GT-F, then XR8 and now Sprint 6/8 will make a profound statement i hope is heard loud and clear not just at Richmond but Detroit...

To be honest from my perspective the ability to feel immersed in these programs has made the difference.

Justin's undying passion and humbleness for these projects and participation on here has been a feature that has undoubtedly not just engaged us on a deeper level but unquestionably resulted in direct sales of product.

Its this level of relationship we had only dreamed of 4 years ago but to feel this engaged and enthralled by Sprint has been a life highlight for me as a Ford fan and something that will never leave me.

I genuinely hope this isn't the end of these kinds of projects.

Ive read so many posts for the passion for the GT-F or XR8 sprint but then towards the end of their post say "but im not in a position to buy one".. If it means that much and made you so happy, why not buy one? we have known this is the end for 2 years now. I could understand this approach in years gone by as you would always aim to buy down the track, buy the next model but with Falcon, there is no tomorrow!! there is no tomorrow!!!

I was one of these passionate people, lusted after the current new car but always owned an older model. Knowing that ford was to cease production, it was now or never. This is what I want, the cars that I enjoy, it was last calls, so I bought one. Buy one people if your passion is as you say.
Did it ever occur to you that some people are unable to drop fifty to sixty grand on a new car?

    Hi Johnny
I was sorting thinking the same thing. People seem to be going off saying (other forums) how they have locked in contracts and prices.
I have pestered the dealer almost everyday but they cant give me a sale contract until Ford upload more details.
In July I signed a paper agreement and I am assured I will get one but for me it is not 100% certain.
Maybe some one here can give a better in-sight into the workings of Ford.
    I wait patiently!

No one in this country has purchased a sprint yet. Its just not possible.

Dealers dont know what cars they are getting yet so all we are is a number in a queue within the walls of a dealership.

If you are number one in a dealer list and that dealer is huge, sells lots of falcons, turbos and xr8s, that's as good as being over the line.

That's the best we can say right now.
History is a statement, the future is a question.

Did you get the sprint in the end Hulk? I didn't think you'd be looking to trade in the XR8 so soon for it! Well done!

To your point on the past page about ford buyers not buying cars, what are you basing this on? By the time I was 32 I'd bought 3 brand new falcons, XR6T, XR8 and GTF.
I know plenty of other people who have done similar, while I don't think that's necessarily the representation of the majority I also don't believe your side of the story is a representation of the reality either.

I don't want this thread to get bogged down in a "why is Falcon going away and why don't people buy them" tangent so I wont be saying any more on the topic.

End of the day we're a pretty lucky bunch, some of my US based colleagues are very envious of our vehicles, I linked them to what we did to Coyote while we were talking cars and they loved it. I'd love to see that motor live on in the Ford products, sure they might not be local but at least the motor would show us what it has in untapped potential.

Depending on what parts of social media you tend to frequent it would be easy to form an opinion that's not always representative of reality.

I think on a % basis members on here have been pretty good at backing statement with purchase action.

I think we're well into double figures now for Sprint ownership.

There are some pics up on caradvice of real sprints including the unseen 6 side decal. I think they are spy shots so be warned, if you wanna wait don't seek them out.

Wheels are definitely black and man will they be tough to clean!

Does the code GTAJ9BB mean anything? That's the model code on my contract. It also says 2016 limited edition sprint.
