All done, I bought a new universal 85 Amp Ford alternator made by Bosch and custom made a bracket. A bit of rewiring was done and I followed peoples advice and replaced all the heavy cables. The regulator is gone and it was pretty simple to join a few wires to get the Battery feed to ignition and the charge light to work. There was one extra wire I had to run from the battery sensor pin on the new alternator to the positive on the battery. The only problem I encountered was the new bracket comes close to the cooling fins on the new alternator pulley. This did limit the adjustment of the fan belt and I had to go a bit bigger with the belt to keep the clearance. 14.2 Volts now charging the battery and I think the lights and blinkers etc are a bit more lively too. I did omit to put a fuse in the battery to ignition wire and I will fix this up soon. Also thinking of putting a kill switch in this circuit too. Anyone interested in photos ?
