Well the wife saw the focus ad last night - and said not a bad one for No2 son.
I actually nearly spat out my mouth of red wine for she has never said anything re Ford for a purchase for starters.
I reckon it does look pretty good and thought ok lets do some checking.
IMO Ford to me in this tuff segemnt should always point their price below the established strong opposition and more so due to trying to get customers thinking about them again for their record is pretty lame here.
Well they are priced at trend more that the rest - like wtf.
I know my son for one he's wanted a 2nd hand Golf GTi - a risk purchase for me but as long as he keeps saving his portion his choice but looking at reviews re Focus :
2019 Ford Focus, the Trend, is pegged at $25,990 plus on-road costs (you can add another $1500 give or take).

Rivals like the Mazda3, Toyota Corolla and Volkswagen Golf are officially priced from $20,490, $22,870 and $24,990 respectively, so the new Ford Focus needs to be pretty special, because that's a decent premium.

As I said - they should notbe more expensive than the rest, say early $20's.
    So that killed that thought.

My brother in-law has been driving a STLine version of a 2019 Focus and is super impressed by it. That said, value for money wise you are better off trying to find a 2018 S model with the gutsy Ecoboost turbo engine. On the Mazda front my mother in law bought a run out SP25 Mazda 3 for about $25k drive away. Its a lot of car for the money. Only tyre noise spoils it.

New corolla looks awesome I reckon. Girl in the office at work just got one and I was surprised just how ‘nice’ everything is.
Nothing feels cheap or an afterthought.

Really? We had one at work as a pool car for a few months. It looked cheap. Hate the way Toyota do the switches on the dash (very 90s) for mirrors and lights. I guess it's good if you want to add stuff. But makes it look cheap. The touch screen is an ordinary unit.

The only thing that was actually pretty good was the CVT auto. Don't know why people complain about it gets the car moving.....and seems to be proven reliable next to old slush box.

That’s how it felt to me haha. Remembering I’m used to my Au or our xv.
Hers is a top spec one, dunno if that would make any difference.
