Not sure at what ur getting at but you can do a part search using a cars vin in microcat. This gives far better results then just search for parts under a general model search. Back in the day Ford changed suppliers for BA XR 18 inch wheels. I ordered on in once and it was wrong. Had to put my cars actual vin in the system to get the correct one.

So what do you do with the broken plastic bit that's in the sump now? Is it safe to leave in in there forever?

My plastic end of the dipstick just broke...wish I saw this thread earlier.

In all honesty it probably is.

It can't get passed the filter. They should be a screen on the oil pick up but should doesn't mean there is.

If its mine I would want it out.

I would hoist it, drop the oil and filter and cross fingers the flow takes the end with it.

It most likely won't so you will need an internal inspection tool to locate the piece and then go fishing with some wire and a hooked end.

If that fails its a drop of the sump.

It really depends if the inlet can be obstructed.

I can try to find out for you if you need that info

    Thanks for your quick response.

I have asked around about this issue and half say to leave it in there, while the other half say I should get it out.

I wonder what the original op gtfpv has done with 2 in his sump?

Should I take on Ford to rectify this known issue?

I would contact your dealership service department and be guided by what they say.

The reason you are getting divided responses is because there is a personal comfort tolerance attached to this. A foreign body like that isn’t meant to be in the sump. The only harm I think it might do is restrict flow to the oil pump. If your dealership says that’s not possible, personally that’s good enough for me. I would run it till an oil change and attempt to get it out then.

My Ford dealer said to not drive it and get it towed to them...sump comes off at my cost.

Called Herrod Performance....John told me to leave it in there and don't worry about it.

Called Premcar.....Daniel said to leave it in there till next service to see if it comes out with draining the oil. He followed up by saying it's preferable if it does come out though.

    Who do you believe?

Not so much who do you believe, more so do you want to take the risk? Leave it and nothing goes wrong then all good. Leave it and something goes wrong will any of them pay for the repair?
