What premcar have said is what I have said.
Do the oil change and hope that it comes out there.
If not while the plug is out and the filter is off, if the plug didn't come out with the oil flow, I would use an internal inspection tool to locate it in the sump and make a scraper to extract it.
Dropping the sump isn't something I would go to straight away but at this point I would want it out. If I couldn't get it out with my scrapper idea, I would drop the sump which probably means sub frame.
Angling the car might increase the chances of oil taking it out in the draining. It is a lot of oil in the Miami.
History is a statement, the future is a question.
Id avoid removing the sump at all costs.
Chances are the piece could live in the sump forever without an issue, but id want to find a way to get it out too.
Without seeing the sump internals and weather there's windage trays or baffles its hard to guess if its possible for it to come out with oil removal.

For me, it's not so much a matter of 'who to believe', rather 'who is accountable' for the consequences. If there is still any warranty on this car then it is that entity that I would be guided by. That said, pulling the car apart as the first point of call is ridiculous. Id drain the oil first which I'm sure any of them would do so see if it just flushes out. What Ford would be concerned with is doing so would not guarantee that all foreign particles would be removed. As the original manufacture, they can not risk giving you advice that still may lead to engine damage, even if its years down the track.
If this were my car, I would want to know all foreign particles are completely out. I would be going to Ford directly and arguing the dipstick was not fit for purpose ( I have not personally seen one BTW) and its premature wear has led to this situation. As a result, I would be seeking a reasonable contribution to the cost of remediation. I would resist the temptation to ask them to pay for everything given the age of the vehicle unless its under warranty.

HSE2 I appreciate and acknowledge your advice too..Thanks
My car is an 2013 FG MKII GT auto with only 12000ks...I may have used that dipstick maybe 14 times to check oil level.
I agree with other posters here that Ford should be responsible for this known issue.
How would do you tackle Ford to rectify the issue?
Can confirm that the broken part didnt come out with the oil. Poured old oil through a rag - nothing. My snake scope was about 1mm too large to go in through the sump plug hole, so refill with fresh oil and filter and order a smaller scope....
Tried fishing around with a long cable tie with a dob of grease on the end, hoping i may ass it.... no such luck![]()

Personally I wouldn't for the following reason.
The mostly likely response would be, its fine where it is.
I wouldn't be happy with that result so ultimately its about doing what you are happy with.
I actually suspect there is very little risk which means you need a new dipstick which from memory isn't very much.
We do have an advantage here with Randel.
If we can work with him to find a way of locating and extracting with out needing to drop the pan, there is going to be little cost incurred if you work in with your oil change schedule.
If we discover the pan does need to drop, there are some calls we can make.
History is a statement, the future is a question.
