it sure has been a unbelieveable period all went through......
We can only consider a good thing we didn't suffer like other places around the world being so far away and could close out most travellers from abroad.

Hindsight is a wonderful thing and as you mention, did this virius accelerate what was going to happen to some people later on ? who knows I don't think those answers will surface till much later.

Hope your improving thats the main thing.

A close friend of ours, non smoker/casual drinker, huge fitness dood in the lycra form.
Used to ride easy 300k's a week, he got it big time 2yrs ago, still recovering.
Sapped of energy, couldn't lift his arms above shoulder height, couldn't get himself out of bed or the couch without his wife's assistance.
Felt crook all the time.
Got on work compo for he caught it there, been going to quacks religiously and monitored, physio weekly, he's about at 60% better now but miles off what he once was.

When we finally caught up for the first time maybe early last year watching him walk towards us and stairs was like I was seeing my 90yr old man.

Are all those symptoms and condition was coming to him in say in 10/12yrs later ? who knows.

Whereas over all that covid time my wife and daughter got infected once, headaches/fever, flu typical type symptoms but heavier and bed ridden so naturally I kept rat testing myself, I tested positive but had no symptoms felt fine.
Friggin strange it sure has been.

Has the vaccine saved or more so helped or avoided some getting anything worse ? again who knows, the aged/pensioners I think you would have been silly not having the shots depending the circumstances, where you reside near alot of people etcetc - regionally I think as long as you kept to yourself and your no where near so many people like in the Burbs you prob could have not had the shots.
Aged care facilities like where my mother inlaw is delivery drivers are going through every single day let alone every few hours, that was high risk imo for a % of the aged who were vulnarable I guess.

As for how it was dealt with, reported by the media, at a loss there, the media are scum thats for sure.
The Morrison Gov ? heck you could probably poke holes through so much let alone certain the State leaders, the obvious is we the people are the ones who suffer at the cold face.

The knock off effects are there and ahead even just day to day living, will accountability prevail ?

I was at a Emergency ward last from 9.30pm till 2am - you could sense all the covid fall out still live and well, you'd think a Tueday evening wouldn't be that long a ordeal, down on staff, the load on the system, you saw people in utter pain but having to wait and wait after registering.
Had to wear masks that is fine by me but I just couldn't help feeling like it was back 2yrs ago or more, the less care from fellow citizens, people frowning at one coughing, surreal.
