I find it interesting that after the 3 days of wind tunnel testing there has been no mention in here or FF. Not that they have really released anything as yet apart from a couple videos showing it being done - anyone heard any inside goss?
Either tells me that the people involved were happy with the process, or the people with a clue were excluded from the process.

Find out which case is true in Feb/March 2024 !

That has more attraction than herrod. I should have known better I guess.

What will I do about the dark horse?
    I'll have a go..

One thing Rob (Herrod) appears to be is brand savvy. In fact his company's greatest asset is its brand and that's because he always puts it first.

Being Australia's current Ford Performance distributor doesn't change this other than making his brand stronger through association. Even the DJR links and Supercars engine program have strengthened this position despite all the engine parity woes etc in 2023 etc

If Ford Performance decided to hitch its wagon to another distributor (s) Herrod would have built up by then enough brand equity to carry on or link itself to a competitor i.e GM.

A lesser-known entity would simply rise to become FP national distributor and ride that wave as long as possible. The issue with that approach is when the strategic partnership is over you are dead in the water. Nobody remembers who you used to be other than the business that used to be an FP distributer etc.

I don't know whether Rob's approach is intentionally strategic or not.

Time will tell if the buyout or take over of the Supercars engine program will tarnish Herrod's brand or enhance it. My guess is his business may benefit through association if the Mustang product comes out strong in 2024.

All of us with classic Falcons and Mustangs want a Godzilla crate motor to play with!

You'll unlikely deal directly with Rob I suspect, more with his son Chris. I'd be inclined to purchase through a Ford Dealer if buying new or ship directly from the US.

    From speedcafe

However, a video published by Supercars showed a suite of changes to the Ford Mustang, which may or may not become part of its 2024 VSD (Vehicle Specification Document):

    New cheeks (front fascia)
    Wheel arch packers
    Splitter skid block adjustment
    Gurney on rear wing endplate
Gurney flap along trailing edge of rear wing plane
    Rear wing pillar gurney
    Modified rear wing angle

A lot of changes there to increase drag. Something the Mustang had suffered with throughout the second half of the season and cost us any chance of a win at Bathurst. I guess after 4 Mustang wins in a row in the last two events with an impeded engine they where bound to change something from that aero set up to bring it back to the Camaro.

So lots doing at DJR not just HSE2's post re Herrod.
    Out goes Ludo.
Storey back in as the Boss.
Will be interesting what happens ahead but think its a good change, the place needed it.

Herrod will always have a customer, there is always new unassuming customers no matter the past.
An opportunist is all I see.
If Marsden long ago hadn't started using him for some one off jobs he would be just like most performance house's in the country no more no less.
He jumped to the US to get FP distributer partnership prior to Mustang - timing good luck to him.
Wouldn't have my car/s near him next to HSE2's opinion, something always smells.
I was sad he has FOA association for there is better no doubt about it.

    Certainly did. It was fantastic.

It’s been a long time between drinks since we had the president of Ford in the US so engaged in our Motorsport program. I get the impression there will be much less tolerance shown in 24 if the Mustangs aren’t on equal or better footing than the other cars.
