Yes, I think it would be anti-climatic and a betrayl of GT buyer trust to simply put GTF package as new XR8.

No, for me the new XR8 will be a super-fortifeid GS, a reach up to GT levels but with more road car manners
and less emphasis on track handling. Perhaps with the intention of GTF buyers doubling up and owning an XR8 too...

    Power figure is not everything.

Thinking along the lines of 335 being in both as per Ian's comments; The thing the GT-F buyers get above the XR8, no matter what, is the badge.

Wonder of I can convince Ford to let me have an XR8 and pay them back 10k a year for five years?

I could nearly do that or I start selling body parts.
History is a statement, the future is a question.

That is what the XR8 should be.

Be interesting to see if these rumoured Rspec XR8 suspensions comes to reality.

I really do think that when you consider HSV didn't increase hp in all but the GTS, this XR8 will be a GT by another name.

In a different time it would have passed as a GT with no questions asked.

The funny part is that you think your body parts are worth anything

And of course, not being a GT gives Ford license to position the XR8 back closer to Clubsport R8
while XR6T does battle with SSV Redline...darn, R Spec and brembos on XR6T? ..maybe aftermarket.

    No Brembos on the XR6T.

I know that and it's why I said, "darn, R Spec and brembos on XR6T? ..maybe aftermarket."
If you want an XR6T that way with all the fruit, the aftermarket is your best friend..

(I was thinking aloud about F6 and its R Spec package from a while ago...)

Ford can't take on Holden with FH, that battle is over, VF has too much cred now and there isnt enough time (or money) to market FH enough to regain status.

Ford probably cant even build enough product to dint VF sales much anyway even if they tried.

The best they can hope for in the short time FH is around is get current Ford owners to either update or come back to the brand out of sentimentality....
