Reasonably Price Car Cover

G'day guys. Need some advice on a reasonably priced car cover. The EB XR8 is under a shed but it is also prone to the elements with dust and high winds. Just want something that will stop the dust build up after I start polishing it. I previously bought a cheaper cover and it was destroyed after a couple of weeks. Any suggestions?

If your car is in the elements I would not bother with a car cover, when the wind blows the cover will rub on your paintwork.
I looked at waterproof car covers for both the EL's, they are a lot more expensive & prone to keeping moisture on your paintwork, when moisture makes it way under the covers.
A company south of Mandurah, here in W.A. make good covers & people interstate swear by them.
I purchased two of the covers, but they are only used to keep dust off the cars.

Thanks mate. That was my fear as well. The challenge I have is that I only get to work on the car for a couple of hours a week. Then travel home. So I wasn't real keen on washing and polishing, then coming back to a dirty car the next week. But might have to be the way it goes. Only doing one panel at a time so no biggies.

I paid about $150 for the cover for my ute as it is most often parked up outside during winter, it was just a store-bought one but the most expensive one I could find, it is waterproof and has a felt lining so it doesn't damage the paint (not that the paint is shit hot on the ute, it was to keep the water out), has little vent flaps and straps that go right under the car to secure it, I'll check the brand when I get home.

Well, not that I've actually noticed, but should be ok because it has elastic hems on the front and back and the straps go under the middle of the car. The brand is Autotechnica.

Got one in the shed I am not using from when I used to keep the g6et in a parking station when I worked on Hamilton Island. Last I checked it out it was ok, you can take it and test it out if you like (if I can find where I left it!)

I purchased a Covercraft HD weathershield for the xr8. I also went to the trouble of putting a micro fibre sheet between it and the outer cover but its impossible with any amount of wind. It just acts a parachute. I have scrathes in the clear now that i attribute to the cover, wind blowing grit under the cover.

Their dust covers, or what they call formfit appear soft enough. If you put a weathershield over that, maybe, and thats a big maybe it might work better at stopping scratching. All up those two covers will be over $700.
