I think the issue centres around them 'targeting 300' and then the damn thing falling short. Now its a case of nothing to see here folks, move on...
It's a real shame the 300 thing took the shine off them unleashing two very iconic Australian GT's off the clock for what will probably be the very last time. Not to mention all the effort involved. I do wish they didn't have all those sponsor stickers on that GT-F but someone had to pay for it all I guess.

In the end at least they did something. I actually enjoyed seeing the GTHO stretch its legs again.

Typically these cars are about visual cosmetics and not functional aero.

HSV wont even entertain it unless their's cracks 300. Being inter-cooled its possible.

I did raise an eyebrow at this too.

Its a slippery slope once you get yourself into a situation like this, very little room not to have ones intergrity questioned as soon as the car comes into contact with a dyno.

Neither of those changes are likely to have impacted on the top speed potential which is probably what matters most.

I make no secret of not liking this aftermarket industry so the instant this wasnt 100% stock some of the gloss was goung to be removed.
Its a bit of a shame the gtf didnt come with a 265 top speed to allow for an off the clock photo without the need for intervention.

Just another difference i guess the GTf could have been given but we know what that means. More testing, more engineering.
Maybe only enable it GPS NT located. Lol

So its likely this is the last we hear of GTF promotions either offical or unofficial.

I am glade they did this. I would not have thought to i do it myself.

Our attention will now turn to Xr8

Well every aftermarket tuner and his dog sells K+N filters on the basis they give you extra performance, some claim up to 5kw so the K+N has potentially given an improvement.

They can't have it both ways.

I don't think the VF GTS is a sure bet to crack 300 either.

On paper it has more kw and torque than the GT-F but on the dyno it doesn't, a more modern frontal design might give it better aero but that letterbox slot in the middle of the front bumper IMO will cause problems with its aero as it nudges closer to the 300 mark. We will have to wait and see.

I agree Dave I think it will run into the same sort of issues. The GTF has more power and fell just short.

You never know though, different day different conditions.
