    Different car

Looks like polish residue, probably at a dealer.

The curve at that point probably creates spray off the buff.

There's no reason for there to be paint overspray on the insert unless they did a sloppy off line repair....

Based on the quality of the one I have, I doubt they did a spray repair.

Now the dealer, that is another kettle of fish...

I have to disagree with the bonnet bulge, it looks great from many angles. Judging this car on photos doesn't do it justice, but in person, especially in Smoke, this car screams 'growl!'.

    Interesting comments re the bulge.

I don't think any of them work from all angles. With b and f, I thought it made the car look nose heavy and a bit like a wart on the end of a witches nose, so in theory I thought I would like FGX more because it brings the hump back to the a pillar.

If you look at the cover shot for motor, I thing the FGX looks stunning more intergrated, but from side on although balance is probably better, it's lost something, not as mean as FG.

Now where it really matters is behind the wheel. Both b and f series bonnets are very cool from behind the wheel.
With a colour like nitro, when the sun is on it you get to see the splendour right in front of your eyes.

The FGX doesnt have the back of the bulge in its colour so I would be keen to hear how it's translates from the front seats?

I liked panda eyes too lol, but only on certain colours. Having said that, the fg's I've seen with them body colour, both factory and aftermarket looked pretty bloody good too.

I guess part of its perception too, fpv was the top dog as far as fords go and you expected a bit of bling and loud colours and stripes.
Now xr8 is top dog I need to remember that it's still a level below what an fpv would be.

The view of the bonnet bulge when driving was one of the reasons I bought my fg, it's always there reminding you it's not just another car.
Having said that, sun strike on that back edge was a bastard at certain times of the day.

    I hear you...

Have always liked the bonnet bulge, no matter the car. It just gave me a feeling of presence, fun, and an excuse to mash the accelerator to the floor.
