I followed Paxton advice, I used the brackets out of the car flatten the end out n then had enlarge one hole n drill the second at the end of a long slot. Just had to make sure u position the brackets so where it screws into the car lined up with the back(black) of the face of the unit(stereo). Then u have to make sure u don't mount it to low or high so using old unit roughly guess the position in which to mount brackets on new unit, making sure they r on a similar line. If your happy to wait I could pull mine out again n show u step by step
