    Yeah Muz, sorry I know engineering played a big part, the guys that developed Falcon
    also had a hand in this car - I'm looking at it and sensing an old friend reinvented under the skin.
    I know it's not RWD but there a lot of styling cues that remind me of mondeo and FGX all in a good way.

    IIRC, all globals are RHD engineering protected - even if the RHD design is not done... just in case.

    There must be two versions of this. The U.S. get their own built in the US.

    Why would they not just import the Chinese version. Surely it would be cheaper to build in China than in the US?

    Nothing to do where its built. But your on the money with two versions.

    Its one of the main reasons our US controlled locals have failed with export opportunities, they've made a concerted effort to protect their local car manufacturing industry..

    I think the Chinese version is LWB designed for chauffeur use.

    I suspect its to do with the USA car workers union, combined with the federal hand outs that make them prefer US made.

    You'll find anything anti competitive or fucked up with the US is a result of lobbyists and the American senate.
