Two reasons:
1 - they gave me the specs of the final product down to the options available and their prices, but no photo/composite of the car, just to trust their word that it looks "good" and to give them the money anyway
2 - they released the photos to other people, some that have no intention on buying one
And I didn't say ahead of everyone else. I just believe that the people that have placed deposits should get a peek at the car, especially when others that will not buy one, have already seen it.
Several of my other cars that I bought before production began had private showings with all the customers that have placed deposits, some of them months before the media was allowed to look at the cars. We all had to sign confidentiality agreements and we all appeared to had honoured them as nothing was ever leaked before the official releases.
