Ford locks in XR6T and XR8 Sprints for 2016.

Two reasons:

1 - they gave me the specs of the final product down to the options available and their prices, but no photo/composite of the car, just to trust their word that it looks "good" and to give them the money anyway
2 - they released the photos to other people, some that have no intention on buying one

And I didn't say ahead of everyone else. I just believe that the people that have placed deposits should get a peek at the car, especially when others that will not buy one, have already seen it.

Several of my other cars that I bought before production began had private showings with all the customers that have placed deposits, some of them months before the media was allowed to look at the cars. We all had to sign confidentiality agreements and we all appeared to had honoured them as nothing was ever leaked before the official releases.

Unfortunately your dealer has told you BS.

No dealer knew the specifications or pricing 8 months ago let alone even last week. It simply wasn't possible for a number of reasons.

I believe Ford will soon be communicating allocation details to the dealers and taking orders from the dealers.

Again, your dealer cant possibly have been able to say his allocation was sold out because that detail hadn't been communicated to them yet..

Who is "they"? Who are "other people"? If you are referring to "they" as Ford then Ford have not revealed anything at all regarding Sprint yet.

Maybe your dealer was referring to them as this, however, the only time I saw them referred to as this was in some magazine article that was clutching at straws. I am still in contact with many people that I worked with in the motor sales industry and none of them ever referred to it as a "XR6T-RS".

I signed the contract to buy the Sprint on 3rd of August 2015, when internally the dealers were calling it the "XR6T-RS". Since I probably placed the first order for a Sprint in Australia, it is disappointing that I still haven't seen it and Ford hasn't bothered to send me a photo through the dealer. I have received all the specs, options available and all other details. But I am concerned about the looks a bit, especially with the gold callipers. I just hope I won't disappointed.

Also of note, I placed the order for the 6cyl as at the time there was no mention of a 8cyl. When I asked the dealer today if I can possibly change to the 8, he told me that he has to confirm with Ford as the allocation is basically sold out, already.

I'm sure there's a few people that put deposits on sprint before August 15.

Apparently these cars are going to be released in May?

TBH I'm a bit over it all.
