The battery packs are 92% reusable/recyclable (I'm about to get one to use for my house) because battery density doesn't matter when you don't have space limitations. Numerous companies exist to repurpose battery packs when they can't be used on the cars.

Tesla made $4.1 billion in profit. The inconvenient truth is that they are manufactured in countries other than the USA and are very profitable now. US doesn't subside the Australian market.
