True.. the road from Hobart to Launceston is about the same standard now as the Calder Hwy was between Melbourne and Bendigo 25 years ago..

Best factory rim choices imo are the Rebels/TS50 5spokes/5th anni/FGXR8....Cobra rims gain a mention.

Colville my eyes must be decieving me - stance looking better ? staggered effect ? I need glass's for reading nowadays maybe I better sue the Optomistrist !!

Having used aftermarket rims since the days of Aunger kidney holes and kept progressing to 20's way before it became vogue I find 19's a great balance for city driving, now don't get me wrong Sydney roads are not great infact woeful as well but the diff between 18's to 19's isn't that harsh. Yep 20's with licorish certainly makes the ride pretty bad won't deny that.
Interestingly having done many years of rep work long ago (drives to Melb/Adelaide/Bris/Cairns/NSW country) and used my cars with 19's I never suffered a blow out or needed to change a rim due to buckling (touch wood) to date.

I keep my originals always - but I'm afraid if you want a tuff stance nothing like a staggered set up with 275 285 tyres - Ford forever and a day and to date "under tyre" our cars ! You said it Ian, I believe HSV listens to their customer at times but Ford imo come on ?!

Maybe staggered was a bad choice of word, but what I am refereeing to in layman’s terms is the rear wheels on the B-series FPV being set further outward, filling the guard which provides a good looking stance. On the FG and past Ford models this is not the case and as a result they look under-tyred as you say. Please note that your TS50 will not suffer from this. It is one, of many other reasons why it was one of the best looking AU models.

Thanks Col - yes I understand your description now but saying "laymens terms" makes me think hello Maurie what are you thinking LOL.
Look your right maybe but am I wrong to think its due to the rear gaurds not having any buldge as manymany Falcons have had in the past hence this enhances wheels/tyres are closer to the gaurd whereas in the past you could poke your head in between wheel and gaurd if you know what I mean in exaggeration.
As you say lowering say another 1" or so will make them look great side on but from behind imo still got jatz biscuits on the treads !

You mention coilovers is the go and I agree got them on the TS but not everyone can spend the coin - my experience over the years the simplest way to still retain a nice ride but achieving 1" drop is compress the original coils, get better bump stops and she's fine for normal daily street use, the genuine strut/shock can handle this as long as you don't bottom out regularly with loads etc...they'll last xamount of time till the day you upgrade to a Billy or Koni or coil over set up.

These would be some of my mags

I like how they also have covers so you dont see wheel nuts as my rims at the moment have got damaged as even slimline rim sockets are still to large and rub against rim.

99AUXR been and done the covered wheel studs and I just can't warm up to it - weird your kind of used to seeing a 5 star pattern for so long its just right so never again.
I think 24" chrome is a winner though just can't help myself blingbling !

No rushing I have a few options so I'll deal with this soon enough !!

Not a fan of chrome, but each to their own I would go polished alloy if thats the look you wanted.
