Was going to say that the internet has made the world a lot smaller and back then isolated pockets tended to be gold mines of naivety.

That said real GTS's and GT's were always expensive in the large population centres.

Even my XC GS cost me $3500 in 1985. I could have bought an honest XWGT in 86 for $10500, but I didn't have the money.
My Falcon family heritage: XY V8 Falcon 500, XYGT, XBGT, XC 351 GS, XD 4.1 Spack, EF wagon, AU Wagon, AU2 Wagon, AU2 XR8, BA XR8, BF XR8, FG XR6, Sprint 8. AU3 XLS Marlin Ute, FG2 Ute, 996.2 Carrera, MY24 Raptor.

T1/2's are a very niche market, vast majority of people don't know what they are. T3's have the big motor and looks to make them very desirable, and a cut above any other au.
Xr8s are a known quantity, and a long running badge (for modern times anyway)

For me, if the two cars were similar in price and condition I'd take the t series, purely based on its rarity. But a mint low Kay example of either tends to distort the options a bit.

I mean no disrespect to his car, it is a nice vehicle but if they were to stand side by side and I were a buyer of an AU Falcon I know which one I would be choosing.

Not all people want a T series Falcon, there are those that prefer the XR brand , my self being one of them.
I love the T-series car’s but I prefer the quad light XR myself.

Why would someone buy a AUII XR8 when there is a same price AU11 TE50, well why would someone buy a FPV FG GT when an FGX XR8 is the same, this is something you seem vague about.
FPV GT is not, and will never be the same as an XR8 FGX, park them side by side and the FPV is a higher grade..!

If i was to choos similar condition XR8 and T series, (AUs ) the T would always be a step up for me.

Sorry, but your sentiment has the better of you.
Sell it for whomever gives you the best money, and dont look back.!

Yep paying $10k for a $2k car is pretty naive and you would have to be pretty gullible to believe that "this is what they sell for" because the guy selling it says so...

In saying that, I have been instructed by the government to privatise the Sydney Harbour Bridge, they need the cash.
It is all hush hush and they will deny it in case the media find out but I can get it for you for a good price.

It was built back in the "muscle bridge" era when real bridges were made of steel not this namby pamby concrete so common in modern bridges with all their environmental protection bullshit.
It was the "biggest single span in the world" in its day and that is real bridge heritage.
No bridge ever built in Australia came close to it, it was sometimes referred to as "the bridgefather" by the faithful.
It was originally designed to use lead based paint but that has been replaced with premium lead free paint so it still looks great.
In fact you will never ever run out of bits that need wash, polishing or painting and "Anyhow*" it has a celebrity history....
Ideal for showing off at "All span days" or even local bridge shows.

Resale will be brilliant, they don't make 'em like this any more.....

All facts appearing in this advertisement are fictitious. Any resemblance to real advertisements, living or dead or from a muscle car enthusiast magazine, is purely coincidental.

I reckon we're getting away from the original question here, which I think is something along the lines of:

If you were selling your car, would you be happy to just take the right money and let it go, or is it important to you where it goes?

I definitely fall into the second category. I dont think there's anything wrong with that.

    Yes we are.

Bottom line is that as soon as you sell it for whatever price to whomever you lose any influence as to what happens to it so really it is what make you happy.

Like our kiwi above, a GTx XR8 is basically the same as a GT-RSpec with the exception that the XR8 has better electronics and is far less obtuse in its body kit but different things appeal to different people for different reasons so do what makes you happy, right and wrong in this scenario is purely subjective......

Il say it again, put your xr , park it beside a FPVGT, and if you cant see the differences inside and out , your blind !!
The basic mechanicals are similar, but the FPV just has more of every thing, iv driven and sat in both...!

The same with a T compared to the xr, its not in the same level of finish...T is a step up..

How are you going to police that anyway?

You list your car for sale how do you know its not me who turns up to buy it? Just because you meet me and I act nice and appear well mannered you don't know what happens to it when it leaves your driveway.

Its not physically me per say but you all know my attitude towards my cars.

You're the one claiming you'd only sell your car to the virgin mary who floats down from the heavens to buy your car to caress it like you do on cold nights.

So prove how you know who is going to treat it how you want it to be treated after they buy it.
